Patient Testimonials
I am very pleased with the results of my full knee replacement on the left
knee. I had surgery January 30, 2012. My surgery was on a Monday and I
was home on Wednesday. Friday after surgery, I was up and doing great.
On my first post-op visit I walked in without a walker or cane. In fact,
I only used a walker a few days after surgery and a cane about the same.
Went on Hawaii vacation in July, walked on beach, swam, went on the Zodiac
trip around Kauai, can’t even tell the difference between my left
and right knee. I had a fast recovery. Thankful for good care and a great surgeon!

I first saw Dr. Gausewitz several years ago for a torn minuscus which he
repaired with arthroscopic surgery. He told me at the time I would be
back in my sixties for knee replacement because my knee was in bad shape
after years of teaching high impact aerobics and jogging. I laughed and
told him I expected that but in my eighties! I went back to him in my
early sixties after years of attempting to hold onto my own knee. He is
an understanding doctor who listens and cares about his patients. No question
or questions are silly or too many. He takes time to explain the procedure
to you and is an excellent, skilled, experienced surgeon. I researched
for 2 years prior to returning just to make sure I had the best surgeon
in Dr. Gausewitz. I am now 6 months post-op and love my new knee! I worked
very hard to rehab my knee with physical therapy and exercising and was
very glad Dr. Gausewitz was my team leader!

Dr. Steven Gausewitz is a Reconstructive Genius. I injured my knee 14 years
ago and had multiple knee surgeries. The old knee replacement lasted beyond
its years. In August 2012 Dr Gausewitz replaced my knee with the latest
technology. Wow what a difference, the recovery time has been great and
the knee is much more mobile. Dr Gausewitz is a very skilled surgeon,
spent time on making my knee correct and reduced the risk. He did a terrific
job reconstructing my knee at Newport Orthopedic Institute in Irvine,
CA (What a wonderful facility). I’m thankful to Dr Gausewitz and
the staff at Newport Orthopedic Institute for all their care and attention
during my surgery and recovery process.

Dr Gausewitz replaced my right hip. The whole experience was less painful
and more successful than I imagined. I’m almost back to “normal”
after six weeks, doing yard work, swimming and walking without pain. Both
the staff at the hospital and the physical therapist commented that Dr.
Gausewitz’s patients seemed to recover faster and do better than
those of other surgeons. Dr. Gausewitz fully answered all my questions,
although it was up to me to ask many of them. He believes in controlling
pain and offered more pain medication than I needed. If I was looking
for a new friend or soulmate, I would look elsewhere. But if you need
a great surgeon, Gausewitz is the guy.
